January 2025 Reflections
Whew. First month of the year, done. January always feels like a weird liminal space—part fresh start, part lingering energy from the year before. It’s like stretching in the morning, where your body is still waking up, and you’re deciding how you want to move through the day (or in this case, the year).
Books Read
January was a good reading month. I finished The Way of the Rose, A Woman’s Worth, and Metaphors in Mind—all books that, in different ways, called me back to feminine wisdom, intuition, and the power of language in shaping my inner world.
Currently, I’m knee-deep in A Course in Miracles and Transurfing Reality, which both feel like heavy-hitting energetic rewires. These aren’t casual reads; they stretch my brain in ways that feel both confronting and liberating.
Meditations
Sticking with my usual mix—TBM (To Be Magnetic), Joe Dispenza, silence, and Rea Earth. Some days, I want structure and visualization; other days, I just sit in the void and listen. The silence is teaching me as much as the guided meditations lately.
Wellness Habits
This month, I’ve been focusing on the basics: hydration, walking outside, sunlight, and movement. I’ve been following a keto protocol (high fat 3:1 ratio) and aiming for 10,000 steps per day. It’s felt good—clean, intentional, and sustainable.
Favorite Meals Right Now
Bullet coffee with coconut oil, ghee & heavy cream
Lettuce cheeseburger with sauerkraut
Sparkling water all day
Integrating & Focusing On
Regular sleep schedule. Yeah… new relationships can really throw that off. Not mad about it, but also aware that I need to recalibrate.
Blue light & mindful daylight exposure. Trying to be intentional about getting natural light in the morning and reducing screen exposure at night.
Play. I’m noticing how often I move from one thing to the next, rushing through my days instead of sinking into them. I want to find more moments for fun—whatever that means in the moment.
Dancing. Feeling the urge to move my body in more joyful, uninhibited ways.
Creativity over "doing." Shifting from constant productivity to more moments of artistic flow, just for the sake of it.
Integrity. Saying yes only to what I can truly hold, and saying no without guilt. Practicing the art of honoring my word, first to myself, then to others.
Shadow Work
Therapy continues to be a grounding force. I’m still seeing my therapist for EMDR and Toltec wisdom-based guidance. She reminds me to zoom out when I get too caught in the micro-details of my emotions.
This month, I’ve been watching what bothers me in my reality. Triggers always hold clues. Instead of spiraling into frustration, I’m using them as keys to freedom. What needs my attention? Where am I still operating from old wounds?
Internal Experiences & Shifts
New relationship. Learning to speak my feelings instead of swallowing them. Giving myself permission to take up space in a dynamic, rather than over-accommodating.
Valuing myself & my time. No more leaking energy into things that don’t serve me.
Respecting my belongings. Taking care of what I have, instead of wishing for something new all the time.
Talking to trees & plants. Sounds woo, but I swear they respond.
Listening more. In silence, in conversations, in life itself.
Practicing presence with friends & family. Getting to know people without judgment, without fear of whether they like me.
Spending time with different groups of people. Rebuilding community from the ground up has been a challenge, but so worth it. My life feels like I am in it.
Wins
Falling back in love with yoga. The depth, the slowness, the surrender.
Returning to breathwork. My nervous system thanks me.
Returning to kundalini. The fire, the discipline, the energy.
1/3 of the way done with 75 Hard. No quitting now.
No sugar for 30 days! Feeling clear, steady, and energized.
January was a month of refinement—clearing, simplifying, recalibrating. Less forcing, more allowing. Less reaching, more trusting. Here’s to continuing that flow into February.
